TL;DR

Findings§1

Where Sprinto leads

  • Digitized framework catalog breadth. 25+ frameworks with full continuous-monitoring automation, plus 200+ digitized as structured requirement libraries.[2]
  • Native integration count. ~300 published vs vCISO Lite’s ~90.[1]
  • Global customer footprint. 3,000+ customers across 75 countries.[6]
  • Strong G2 rating. 4.7–4.8/5 across ~1,680 reviews across the compliance-automation category.[5]
  • Trust Center + Customer Success engagement. First-class Trust Center product plus a named CS engagement bundled through the first audit.

Where vCISO Lite leads

On the overlap (compliance automation)

  • Framework mapping model. 250+ frameworks / 1,468 controls via SCF cross-mapping — add one framework once, coverage extends to every buyer whose stack references any control on it.[2]
  • Custom-framework parity note. Both platforms support customer-added frameworks (Sprinto via its “Add Own Framework” docs); vCISO Lite differentiates on the common SCF control spine so coverage composes across any framework the customer carries.
  • Regulated-industry depth. Purpose-built for education (CIPA/COPPA/FERPA), government / defense (CMMC / NIST 800-171 / NYDFS Part 500), healthcare BA workflows, and PE portcos. SCF cross-mapping also covers country-specific frameworks (India DPDP, UK Cyber Essentials, Singapore MTCS, Australia Essential Eight).
  • Continuous maturity monitoring. Program maturity scored continuously with trajectory over time — regression surfaces the day it starts.

Beyond compliance automation

  • Evidence graph. Queryable graph of claim → evidence → attestation → source with per-event Ed25519 signatures and RFC 3161 timestamps. See use case · docs.vcisolite.com.
  • Auditor surface — signed evidence. Both platforms give auditors their own workspace (Sprinto’s Audit dashboard, firm.vcisolite.com); vCISO Lite differentiates on the fact that the evidence the auditor reviews is signed and independently verifiable.
  • Cyber risk quantification. FAIR-derived Monte Carlo, expected-annual-loss, and loss-exceedance curves native.
  • Third-party incident response. Refraction re-derives conditional $-exposure hourly during a live vendor breach.
  • Vendor concentration analysis. Herfindahl-Hirschman Index across the vendor inventory.
  • M&A cyber diligence. CCOD for buy-side and portco-side via 5-pillar QCD.
  • BIA and scenario rehearsal. BIA, dependency-graph, ORE outcome scoring, and scenario rehearsal on top of DORA / NYDFS framework coverage.
  • KRI automation. Threshold alerting, calibration, drill-down to underlying evidence.
  • Governed autonomous operations. Trustworthy Autonomy™ — every autonomous action runs through a signed authority grant with attestation.
  • MCP tool graph. Titanium exposes 100+ evidence-backed tools via Model Context Protocol.
  • Board-ready reporting. Templated quarterly packet with narrative synthesis, CRQ figures, and scenario overlays.
  • vCISO advisory on Ultra+ tiers. CISO consulting on Ultra (4h/mo); Enterprise dedicated vCISO Advisor.
  • Published pricing. Starter $3,228/yr billed annually ($299/mo) on /pricing. Sprinto is quote-only.

Sprinto is a compliance-automation product with a strong G2 rating and a named agentic-automation product. vCISO Lite is a security & cyber-risk platform of which compliance automation is one surface, and ships in the agent-governance category via Trustworthy Autonomy™ (public beta since July 2026). The overlap is narrower than the shared category naming suggests.

Pick Sprinto when the compliance workload is the whole workload AND the buyer specifically values the Autonomous Trust Platform, the bundled first-audit CS engagement, or the public G2 track record (4.7–4.8 across ~1,680 reviews) as buying-committee evidence.

Pick vCISO Lite when the audit is the price of entry and the work is broader — cyber risk quantified in dollars for a board, vendor-incident exposure computed within hours of a disclosed breach, M&A cyber diligence, or US regulated-industry coverage (CIPA, COPPA, FERPA) Sprinto does not ship. Published pricing: Starter $3,228 / yr billed annually ($299/mo).

Sprinto’s vendor risk module logs a live incident and continues sending questionnaires; it doesn’t re-compute the buyer’s exposure. vCISO Lite ships DC-TPIR productized as Refraction, which re-derives conditional dollar exposure hourly while the incident is live. Detail in §4.1.

Scope & evaluation criteria

Boundaries§2

In scope

Buyer profile
Companies at 25–500 employees carrying compliance, vendor risk, cyber-risk, and (frequently) M&A cyber-diligence workloads without a full-time in-house CISO or GRC lead.
Evaluation frame
Twelve capability categories the buyer is evaluating BOTH tools for. Not: everything each product does.
Comparison basis
Published product documentation, live product surfaces, public pricing where disclosed, vendor-published customer disclosures, industry-press coverage (TechCrunch, Inc42, Help Net Security), and funding-round disclosures. Not: vendor-sponsored bakeoffs or internal-only NDA material.

Out of scope

Enterprise-only capabilities
Sprinto’s enterprise SKUs surface capabilities not published on the SMB pricing page. If your evaluation is for a >1,000-employee footprint, this page is under-representing Sprinto.
SI/consulting overlays
Both vendors have partner ecosystems that add capability at additional cost. This page evaluates in-product capability only.
Roadmap
Only shipped, generally-available capability is compared. Beta and private-preview capabilities are footnoted where public.

Capability coverage

Twelve capabilities§3

Amber = Sprinto ships it. Teal = vCISO Lite ships it. Split = both ship it (weighted when one is materially stronger). Hover a hex for the mechanism detail.

Capability deep-dives

How each side implements it§4

Five capabilities, one spec-card per side. Same slots on both cards so the reader can eye-compare row by row. Framework decomposition lives in §5; pricing lives in §6.

§4.1

Vendor risk & third-party incident response

Both ship static assessment; only one ships incident-time $-exposure re-derivation.

Sprinto

Static questionnaire + continuous vendor-domain scanning.

Inputs
SIG / CAIQ / custom questionnaires · external scanning of vendor domains (TLS, headers, breach signals).
Outputs
Weighted scores · risk-tier assignments · reminder-driven vendor workflow.
Evidence
Assessment records · tiered vendor inventory.
Fails when
A critical vendor discloses a breach — no in-platform exposure math while the incident is live.
vCISO Lite

Same static assessment primitives, plus DC-TPIR conditional-exposure engine for live incidents.

Inputs
Same questionnaire + scanning primitives · plus a formal dependency graph mapping each vendor to buyer business functions.
Outputs
Conditional $-exposure re-derived hourly during an incident (FAIR + calibrated estimation) · cheapest-mitigation naming.
Evidence
Signed exposure trace in the evidence graph · DC-TPIR methodology published on /briefs-and-specs.
Fails when
Vendor hasn't disclosed the incident — the engine has nothing to re-derive against.
§4.2

Cyber risk quantification (CRQ)

Sprinto
Not shipped as a native capability. Framework score is the primary risk signal surfaced to buyers; there is no EAL, LEC, or scenario-modeling primitive in the SMB tier. Buyers requiring CRQ deploy RiskLens or ThreatConnect alongside Sprinto.
vCISO Lite

FAIR-derived Monte Carlo, native to the platform.

Inputs
Loss Event Frequency ranges · Loss Magnitude ranges per risk scenario.
Outputs
Expected Annual Cost + P90 loss · Loss Exceedance Curve in the same UI as compliance status.
Evidence
Signed scenario runs in the evidence graph · usable for cyber-insurance conversations without a broker questionnaire cycle.
Fails when
Buyer has no calibrated loss data and won't invest in ranging — the model still runs but the outputs describe the ranges, not the business.
§4.3

M&A cyber diligence

Sprinto
Not shipped. No sell-side, buy-side, or portco M&A cyber-diligence in-product; PE / IB buyers overlay a Kroll / Deloitte / boutique diligence firm.
vCISO Lite

Cyber Cost of Deal (CCOD) + 5-pillar Quantitative Cyber Diligence (QCD).

Inputs
Target's attack surface · vendor concentration · data sensitivity · insurability · remediation-cost baseline.
Outputs
CCOD as a dollar figure decomposed into Risk Cost + Remediation Cost · portco quarterly delta.
Evidence
Buy-side pre-signing packet (5-day surface) · portco quarterly board packet · sponsor-level portfolio view for cross-holding concentration risk.
Fails when
Target hasn't cooperated on data-room access — pillars fall back to signal-only estimation.
§4.4

Advisory & vCISO time

Sprinto

Customer Success engagement bundled; no fractional vCISO hours per se.

Inputs
Named CS contact assigned at account start.
Outputs
Onboarding + first-audit program management · CS-driven timeline coordination.
Evidence
Customer Success meeting cadence · audit-readiness milestones.
Fails when
Buyer needs strategic security advisory beyond program management — sourced separately from a third party; not in the Sprinto SKU.
vCISO Lite

CISO consulting on the Ultra tier (4h/mo); Enterprise includes a dedicated vCISO Advisor.

Inputs
Ultra/Enterprise practitioner assigned at account signup · direct platform access for the vCISO.
Outputs
Attested policies · scenario runs against the buyer's own posture · quarterly board packet drafts.
Evidence
Advisor's actions traced in the evidence graph · attested artifacts referenced by name.
Fails when
Buyer on Starter / Growth / Business — CISO consulting is Ultra and Enterprise only.
§4.5

Agent governance & autonomous operations

Sprinto

Autonomous Trust Platform (GA March 2026) — agentic auto-remediation.

Inputs
Detected deviations across the ATP scope (systems, vendors, access, AI usage) · human review on judgment calls.
Outputs
Auto-remediation actions across the ATP scope · CS-visible action log.
Evidence
Action log entries · remediation traces.
Fails when
Buyer wants a scoped, signed authority-grant model with per-action attestation — ATP ships a remediation surface, not a general agent-governance substrate.
vCISO Lite

Trustworthy Autonomy™ four-level authority-gate framework — public beta since July 2026.

Inputs
Every agent action across the platform · scoped signed authority grants · attestation cron.
Outputs
Measured-action traces per autonomous action · Level 1 (fully autonomous with human notification) proven in production since 2026-08-17.
Evidence
Signed authority grants in the evidence graph · measured-action traces feed the eval corpus.
Fails when
Buyer wants a shipped GA claim rather than a public beta — Sprinto has a 5-month head-start on GA.

Provenance§10
  1. [1] Sprinto integration count derived from sprinto.com/integrations (accessed 2026-09-02). vCISO Lite integration count from vcisolite.com/integrations (accessed 2026-09-02).
  2. [2]Sprinto framework count from sprinto.com/frameworks (accessed 2026-09-02, disclosed as 25+ frameworks with full continuous-monitoring automation plus 200+ frameworks digitized as structured requirement libraries). vCISO Lite framework count from vcisolite.com/features/compliance (accessed 2026-09-02, disclosed as “250+ frameworks cross-mapped to 1,468 controls via SCF”). Note on country-specific frameworks (India DPDP, UK Cyber Essentials, Singapore MTCS, Australia Essential Eight, etc.): both vendors carry these — Sprinto via its digitized catalog, vCISO Lite via SCF cross-mapping. That’s specifically what the SCF is for: a common control substrate that maps to any framework globally, so a control landed once in vCISO Lite maps to every framework the SCF row participates in.
  3. [3]Sprinto pricing data from Vendr marketplace (vendr.com/marketplace/sprinto, accessed 2026-10-08): median $15,000/yr, range $13,167–$16,000. Sprinto does not publish list pricing; Vendr aggregates real buyer-paid prices from its sales-intel platform.
  4. [4] Autonomous Trust Platform launched March 2026 (PR Newswire release, 2026-03-21): agentic remediation across systems, vendors, access, and AI usage. Funding: $20M Series B (April 2024, Accel-led); founded 2020, dual HQ San Francisco + Bengaluru per TechCrunch + Inc42.
