vCISO Lite Launches Enforcement, Turning Approved Security Policies Into Standards That Run, Have an Owner and Prove They Happened

Technical requirements are checked against the company's own policy values, process controls run on schedule with their evidence gathered for them, and a fix closes only when an independent rescan proves it held

ATLANTA, October 20, 2026 – vCISO Lite today launched Enforcement, which turns every requirement in a company's approved security policies into a standard with an owner, a schedule and a test. A scanner checks technical requirements against the values the policy actually states. A named person runs process requirements on a schedule, with the evidence gathered for them. Enforcement is available today on vCISO Lite Business plans and above.

Most companies can show an auditor a set of approved policies. Far fewer can show that anyone follows them. Compliance tools test a fixed checklist, process controls live in spreadsheets, and when a control's owner leaves, the auditor is often the first to notice.

"A policy nobody runs is a liability with a signature on it," said Yolonda Smith, founder of vCISO Lite. "Every company we talk to has policies. What they can't show is that the policy is followed on an ordinary Tuesday, when no audit is coming. Enforcement reads what you already approved and makes each requirement someone's job, checked against your own numbers, with proof that it happened. Your policy says it. Now it happens."

New to compliance

• Graded against your numbers. Every technical check reads the value in the company's own clause. Change the policy and the grades follow; a draft change waits until it's approved.
• Process controls that run themselves. An access review opens on its own date, pulls and seals fresh account lists, sends each account to its holder's manager, and closes on the owner's sign-off. The same mechanism runs any process a policy describes.
• No control left behind. The directory syncs from Okta, Entra ID, Google Workspace or BambooHR. A planned departure opens the handover before the person leaves; an unplanned one makes their named backup the acting owner the same day.
• Done means a rescan passed. The service that applied a fix never marks it done. A separate rescan does, and a change that didn't hold is rolled back.

The essentials, done better

• Standards, versioned and approved like policies. AI can draft a standard from its clause, and a named person approves every version.
• One list of fixes. Configuration drift and missed process steps sit in the same list. Fixes that need an engineer go to Jira or Linear, with alerts in Slack or Teams, and closing the ticket starts the rescan.
• Proof an auditor can check independently. Every approval, decision and rescan is sealed as evidence and timestamped by an independent authority.

Enforcement launches with rebuilt Connections and Security Scanning. Every connection checks its own access before the first scan and counts only toward the audits a company chooses. Every scan result is graded against the clause it proves, and anything a platform won't let vCISO Lite read is marked not evidenced, never passing.
